Reuniting a Family

Hello to all!

That is, anybody who ever still visits this site. It has been quite some time since anybody posted anything on here, so I doubt that there is anybody who visits anymore. Regardless, I wanted to let anybody who may be reading this know that I would like to reunite the family that was once the Sky Troops.

No, this doesn’t mean the army will be brought back. Armies as a whole have been on the decline, and there really isn’t anybody left who could and would lead the Sky Troops back to our former glory. What I mean by a reunion is exactly that, we get back in contact with each other and resume having fun times together. This was a great family we had here, and even though this part of our history is gone, we can continue these great times in other ways.

If There Was A Return

So, with the recent chat meeting we had, a couple people asked if ST was going to return. The short answer to this question at this time is no.

The longer answer is that there simply isn’t enough interest and, in all honesty, armies are reaching the end. When recruiting, new phrases are having to be used with the ever restricting filters. Along with this, autotyping is almost a necessity in order to efficiently recruit to the army.

On top of these issues, we currently just can’t create a revival. I am in college and free time is especially hard to come by between band and the work. I know that many of our other former leaders have reached or are reaching this stage in their life as well. Being at this age, we don’t have time to run an army, and that free time is only going to become more and more scarce. There’s just nobody to train and pass the ropes on to when we hit a point when we have to leave.

All this being said, I will not oppose a return if it is done properly. As of now, the people who can revive the Sky Troops are myself, Snickers, Kronos, Everton, and Ming. Any other version will not be recognized as a part of the original Sky Troops. That said, if you feel your name should be on this list, contact me. I don’t believe there are any other people though, as these are some of the people who have done the absolute most for ST throughout our history.

If any of these people decide that they would like to make a revival, I will be here to help out as an advisor, but apart from that I fear there is little I can do for the aforementioned reasons.

On a side note, I would definitely like to participate if anybody else who was in Sky Troops would like to make a faction on a server in Minecraft. I spend the little free time I get on Minecraft now and it just requires less from people time-wise in my opinion.

That’s about all for this post. There isn’t much to it, just putting to rest any rumor about the return of ST and trying to explain why.

The cool people meeting

We are cool. We know that we are cool. This is why we are going to get together. Our cool level will rise exponentially after talking to each other.

Not Quite Over

Based on a recent request, I have decided to reopen the first generation of the Sky Troops. I still consider it the first gen because nobody new has expressed interest in reviving us, only a former leader.

For now, I will remain in an advisory role until I see if I am going to have time for something more. I do, however, wish the best of luck to those who plan to lead this revival. Always remember that the sky is no limit for us.

A Conclusion

The Sky Troops had their times where nothing could vanquish them and all the land spelled victory for them. Thanks to the leaderships of many, including those that may have not attained leader but greatly influenced the face of the army, they prospered. Most notably the leadership of Alex Cone, who stood with the army until the very end like a captain on his doomed ship. Of course it never was truly a tragic end. We all grew up and found other tasks which in the moment were more important and the army was cast aside.

Hiring Owners and Leaders and Moderators

This is just a short message for all that are viewing the site. If you think you are in perfect condition being in our ownership, or actually leading, you have an opportunity starting right now.

You are limited to 2 armies, depending on loyalty.

First, let me explain what you are required of.

1. You must have leadership/ownership experience.

2.You must have lead or been an owner in a major army that has reached at least 8 on CPAC.

3. You must show proof that you can recruit in a short amount of time.

4. If you betray, your name will go on the HOS, or hall of shame.

5. Whenever there is a dead chat, you must fill it up.

6. You will be evaluated with your event and recruiting strategies.

7. Any mistake you make, you fix it. Any drop, you pick it up.

8. Be as active as possible, we will not accept any excuses of any type.

Being a moderator is a tough job. You must recruit, and do anything possible to adjust and assist the Sky Troops. You are limited on 3 armies that are allies with us, and you must be on our chat whenever you are on Xat.com.

You must be active, loyal, and if you ever betray, you will be banned forever on our chat.

Here are a list of requirements you will need to follow in order to recieve a position.

1. You must be active, we will not accept excuses of any type.

2. You must have been a moderator on a past major army.

3. Do not cause any trouble for the army to face.

4. You must show proof you were a moderator on that army.

5. If you ever take a break, or go on vacay, let us know or you will be demoted.

6. Follow all orders and rules, and recruit new troops.

7. Be sure to welcome any newcomer, especially if they’re a newbie.

8. Do not constantly request owners for a promotion, you will not get one if you keep asking.

So, here comes the form for you to fill out to become a moderator!

My Return/Rebuilding

Hey guys! This will be a short post, but I would like to officially announce that I have returned from my vacation, and will not be going on one again without access to a laptop. 🙂

Now that I have returned, I want us to get back into the swing of things. To do this, I have signed us up for the SMAC-Down III Tournament. I know that we can perform well in this and expect nothing but great things from us.

In order to achieve these, we will have to work, and I think that AJ did a great job of laying out everything that needs to be done. Please refer to his post and report to chat often so we can get going again.

It is time to break the barrier the sky has imposed for so long.

Ignoring ALL Invasions

Hello, Sky Troopers and other armies. We will be ignoring ALL invasions until our official opening on August, 30, 2014. Any army that decides to declare war and invade our servers will have to give up half of their nation before 9/5/14. Thank you.
